Mark de Boer is Site Manager for Shell's Holland Hydrogen I, Europe's largest renewable hydrogen plant. With over 20 years of experience as a Construction and Project Management professional leading complex industrial projects, Mark builds high-performing multi-company teams to deliver integrated results safely and on time.
He applies Lean Construction and Continuous Improvement methodologies to optimize execution from front-end development through commissioning. Since July 2023, he has been accountable for all construction and (pre-)commissioning activities on the 200MW electrolyser project—a critical step in Shell's energy transition strategy requiring seamless coordination across offshore wind integration, electrolyser technology deployment, and integration with Shell's Pernis refinery operations. His focus on execution excellence through structured meetings and visual management has proven critical to navigating the unique safety and technical challenges of this pioneering green hydrogen facility.
